Hardy fuchsias

Several fuchsia varieties are totally hardy outside in the UK, even in the toughest winters. To protect them a thick layer of compost or bark spread in the autumn helps to ensure the frost does not penetrate down and damage the crown of the plant. Adam Pasco has some tips on how to look after them as we move into spring.
